Objectives

1.- Comparative analysis of the prevalence of drug use and associated factors in child population in the participating countries.
2.- Comparative study of preventive interventions developed in the participating countries and identification of ht best practice and distribution of it.
3.- Development of an early detection scale of drug use.
4.- Design and evaluation of a training program on prevention and counseling in drug abuse directed at teachers in secondary schools.
5.- Design, development and maintenance of a website for dissemination of contents related to project objectives.

Expected Results

  1. Comparative report on the prevalence of drug use among children and young people and their consumption habits, the final document on the phenomenon of current consumption and the tendency to short. Each country will provide a quantitative and qualitative analysis on the situation of the phenomenon..
  2. Report on best practices in preventive intervention at schools. Comparative analysis is developed in the participating countries.
  3. Create an early detection scale for risk factors of drug use.
  4. Design and evaluation of a teacher training program of 50 hours.
  5. Design, development and maintenance of a Web page with access to technical reports, results, and products generated by the project and other relevant informations of the project.

Results will be available as presentations at scientific and professional forums, as publications in scientific journals and in the Bank of the assessment instruments of the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction and disseminated through drugs and education’s networks.

Distribution of workload between partners

The work is organized into seven groups, based on a fair sharing of work load and considering the capabilities of each partner, such as criteria for evaluation of the Comenius funding programme establishes.

GROUP 1: Management and coordination, coordined by UNED (P1) responsable of:

Economic and administrative matters (Fundación UNED),
Agreement with the European Commission and bilateral agreements with partners.
Organization of the first meeting held in Madrid on 12th and 13th February, and support in organizing meetings in the others countries.
Project web page design and its updating,
ALF management platform as a communication and coordination instrument among the partners during the project life.
Development of a training program through the ALF platform,
Support to the other partners to achieve the objective of the Project.

GROUP 2: Reports. coordinated by Universitatea “Petre Andrei” din Iaşi (P7) responsable of:

Coordinate the selection of data sources and collection of them for writing
the respective reports.

GROUP 3: Early Detection Scale coordinated by UMH (P2) responsable of:

Diseño de una escala para la Detección Temprana del Riesgo del Consumo de Drogas, realizar la version española y coordinar las tareas para la adaptación y validación de escala para cada país.

GROUP 4: On-line training course, coordinated by UNED (P1) responsable of:

It Hill be responsible for coordinating activities related to the design, development, editing and publication of online courses for training teachers for the detection of drug abuse among adolescents in Europe. It is also responsible for coordinating the preparation of the workshop that Hill be held in Alicante, in Spain, on these subjects.

GROUP 5: Evaluation, coordinated by UTGM (P9) responsable of:

coordinate all activities of project evaluation. The partecipation records will be established on the ALF platform for the coordination of the partners network. It’s responsible for organizing the final meeting of the project in which the evaluation reports and project results will be presented.

GROUP 6: Dissemination of results, coordinated by UAb (P4) responsable of:

which will establish the necessary mechanisms for the distribution of products of the project: on-line course and Early Detection Scale, among the different networks in which: European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU), Latin American Association of Education Superior Distance, AIESAD.
As a media campaign through the channels of specialized communication directed to teacher’s groups (associations, unions, mailing lists, training entities and public administrations in charge of training and accreditation of teachers).
Ensures that the courses organizad will become part of their accademic offer.
